Howard Partridge
(right) founded Clean as a Whistle in 1984. Partridge was in the restaurant
business before entering the carpet cleaning industry. Being
experienced in fine
dining, he knew how to
serve people.
Partridge quickly
realized that most carpet cleaning companies were not providing good service
and did not seem to know about cleaning either.
In addition to service, Partridge immersed himself in education. Studying cleaning magazines, manuals and networking with other professionals across the country, he learned everything that he could about carpet and fabric cleaning. As a result, he began to solve many difficult cleaning problems for carpet retailers, designers and homeowners. Most other cleaners did not know how to solve these problems, so it created a niche for Clean as a Whistle. Over the years, Partridge continued to build the company, adding important certifications and designations along the way. He conducts seminars around the country for the cleaning industry. He also writes articles for national cleaning magazines.
Two of Partridge's most esteemed colleagues, Scott Zack (left) and Dennis Klager, joined the Clean as a Whistle team in 1997. They acquired ownership in the company and Clean as a Whistle, Inc., was born. Zack and Klager each had an incredible amount of talent and knowledge to add to the business, but more importantly each had the same commitment to excellence as Partridge.
Since 1984, Klager owned Sir Sparkle that operated mostly in Kingwood. He spent many years as a carpet inspector and handling major water and fire restoration jobs. He has applied his knowledge to training our technicians at Clean as a Whistle and keeping our trucks in tiptop order.
Zack owned Viking Carpet Cleaning and is very knowledgeable in all areas of carpet cleaning. He is a very detailed person and spent years studying all aspects of carpet cleaning. He is truly an expert. The company began to grow by leaps and bounds, and continued to gain more certifications, continued to improve the quality of service and cleaning procedures.
With the help of Klager and Zack, the company is fulfilling the Partridge's vision. Consumers are continually amazed at the amount of information that is available and how effective the cleaning procedures are.
Due to the commitment of the owners and our incredible staff, Clean as a Whistle has become a 10-truck operation that is one of the most respected carpet cleaning companies in the country. and upholstery cleaners in the world. In order to be certified you must
attend an in-depth course followed by an exam. Clean as a Whistle's staff

Member
The Association of Specialists in Cleaning & Restoration
is an international association for carpet & upholstery cleaners, Oriental
rug cleaners, mechanical systems hygienists, and water & fire damage restorers.
ASCR is the most affluent of all associations offering the most advanced
education in our industry. Clean as a Whistle is very involved in this
association.
CUCI
The Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Institute is a division
of ASCR. This board advises ASCR on carpet and upholstery cleaning issues,
represents the membership and is responsible for bringing forth educational
opportunities.
PCRA
The Professional Cleaning & Restoration Alliance is
the official carpet cleaners association for this region of the United
States. Their function is to promote quality professional carpet cleaning
and to provide a forum in which ethical carpet cleaners can share ideas.
The association also holds seminars and workshops to train carpet cleaners
in advanced techniques.
